Origami Birds Whereas some origami designs can be naturalistic, other designs, such as this one, are really symbols. Here is a bird not a duck, a swan, or anything more specific just a bird: it has a head, wings, and a tail, so it must be one, even though it doesn’t look like any particular species. So, you may be asking yourself, is the design a remarkable distillation of form, or merely an example of inadequate technique? Surely the former. Use a 6-8 in. (15-20 cm) square of paper.
